How it works
- You log a visit by searching for a restaurant, adding notes on what you ordered, and optionally a photo.
- Forkive shows the new place next to one you've already logged and asks which you liked better.
- A few of those picks place the new restaurant in your personal ranking and give it a score on a 0-10 scale.
- A personal map, a public Discover map, friends and a leaderboard help you find where to eat next.

One sentence
Forkive is a free web app that ranks restaurants the way Letterboxd ranks movies: by comparing places head to head instead of giving them stars. One paragraph
Forkive is a restaurant tracker built around ranking, not star ratings. Every time you log a visit, the app asks which you liked better between the new place and one you've been to before, and your personal list re-sorts itself. It's free, works in any browser, and includes a map of everywhere you've eaten, friends, and a public Discover page. Built solo by Xander Wasinger in Colorado.Longer version
Star ratings don't help you choose where to eat. Almost everything a person likes lands at four or five stars, and a notes-app list of forty restaurants doesn't say which ones deserve a recommendation. Forkive replaces the star with a single easy question: which did you like better? Each answer places the new restaurant relative to places you already know, so your list becomes an honest ranking with a 0-10 score attached. Around that core it adds notes and photos for each visit, a personal map, a want-to-try list, ten badges, a yearly recap, friends and a public Discover map. Forkive is free to use, launched in September 2026, and was built solo by Xander Wasinger, who documents the build on YouTube.Features
- Forkive ranks restaurants through pairwise comparison, so each new place is placed relative to the ones you already know.
- Every visit can include notes, dish-level details, a price level, tags and a photo.
- A personal map pins everywhere you've eaten, and a public Discover map shows where others are going.
- Visits can be private or public, and you choose who you follow.
- A want-to-try list keeps places you haven't visited yet, separate from your ranking.
- Ten collectible badges, a year-in-food recap and a taste profile make your history fun to revisit.
- Restaurant search runs on Forkive's own database of US places rather than a paid maps API.
